A Creative Legacy

Unit 13 emerged from Cambridge Art Salon, a creative community founded in 2011. The Art Salon originally a grassroots artist-led space in Romsey Town, grew into a thriving hub for exhibitions, workshops, and creative collaboration. By 2015, the community expanded into Unit 13, a warehouse studio in East Cambridge, and later followed by Thrifts Walk studio in 2016, both of which are now independently run.

Over the years, these spaces have fostered an inclusive and dynamic arts scene, supporting artists and socially engaged projects that bring creativity into the community. The passion for accessible art remains strong, with an ongoing commitment to events like the Strawberry Fair Arts Area, and a vibrant network of independent artists shaping Cambridge’s cultural landscape.
